Pakistan- Mashal Khan's father also challenge ATC ruling in PHC

(MENAFN- Tribal News Network) MARDAN: Iqbal Khan, father of Mashal Khan, who was lynched to death in Abdul Wali Khan University Mardan over blasphemy charges, on Saturday submitted six appeals at the Peshawar High Court against acquittal of 26 persons by an Anti Terrorism Court in his son's lynching case.

The ATC had sentenced one person to death, five were awarded life imprisonment each while 26 were acquitted. Khan appealed the PHC to award death sentence to those who were imprisoned for life while those acquitted in the case should be arrested and tried as they have confessed their crime the day they were released.

The provincial government has also challenged the case at PHC while Mashal Khan's brother too filed an appeal against the ATC judgment.
