(MENAFN- UkrinForm) The United Kingdom will strongly promote a process of transparent privatization in Ukraine.
First Secretary at the British Embassy in Ukraine Cathy Cottrell said this during the round table discussion "Cooperation in theParliament-Government-Naftogaz Triangle," an Ukrinform correspondent reports.
"Along with the privatization program, we need to move towards transformation of inefficient enterprises into efficient ones. It is also very important to create independent boards of directors, to increase the transparency of reporting procedure to the parliament and the public. The British Embassy will support this work in every possible way," Cottrell said.
She hopes that the law on privatization will help attract funds and carry out a transparent sale of state-owned enterprises.
"We made a commitment to provide certain financial resources," Cottrell added.
As Ukrinform reported, on January 18, 2018, the Verkhovna Rada passed the law on privatization of state-owned property.
