Prime Minister of Kyrgyzstan instructs to conduct thorough analysis of reasons preventing development of regions

(MENAFN- Trend News Agency ) The State Agency for Local Government and Interethnic Relations (SALGIR) under the Government of the Kyrgyz Republic presented its activities on the development of Local Self-Government for the period from 2013 to 2017 at a Governmental Meeting today, with reference to the press service of the Government reported.

Chairman of the SALGIR Bakhtiyar Saliev informed that within the framework of the implementation of the National Strategy for Sustainable Development of the Kyrgyz Republic (NSSDKR) for the period 2013-2017, the Program for the Development of Local Self-Government was developed.

"This program was aimed at increasing the responsibility and optimizing the Local Self-Government authorities, focusing on the needs of citizens, strengthening financial sustainability, expanding the resource base and local economic development, as well as improving the organizational and legal performance of local authorities," he said.

At the same time, despite measures taken during the reporting period, the number of subsidized rural administrations increased from 362 to 382, and the number of self-sufficient rural administrations decreased from 91 to 71 units. The main reasons for this phenomenon were low economic activity and inefficient use of the available economic potential on the areas.

Isakov instructed the department to conduct a thorough analysis of the reasons that impede the development of the regions. "Perhaps there are other factors that negatively affect the economic performance of the subsidized regions. President Sooronbay Jeenbekov often raises issues of regional development in his appeals. We must take them into account. Give us a carefully researched analytical summary," the Head of the Government said, urging to pay special attention on increasing the staff potential of Heads of Local Self-Government authorities.

"In near future, the national campaign Taza Jashoo (Pure Life) will be launched. This campaign should be carried out at the highest level, as it is aimed at improving the social infrastructure, the sanitary condition of urban and rural sites, planting trees, cleaning and landscaping in all regions of the country. I intend to personally coordinate the implementation of this movement,' Isakov said.
