Doha: The State of Qatar expressed its strong denouncement and condemnation of the massacres and intensive aerial bombardments carried out by the forces of the Syrian regime forces in the besieged Eastern City of Al Ghouta, which led to hundreds of deaths and injuries of innocent civilians, most of whom were women and children.
Qatar stressed in the statement made by the Official Spokesperson of the Foreign Ministry H E Lulwa Al Khater that 'Eastern Ghouta is one of the De-escalation Zones, and these operations could hinder international efforts to reaching a political solution.
In this context, the Spokesperson added that State of Qatar 'renews its call for the international community, especially the Security Council, to fulfill its responsibilities to maintain peace and security, and to implement its declared cease-fire resolutions throughout Syria, and to take the necessary measures to stop these crimes and protect the Syrian people and their future generations through transitional justice, and bringing war criminals to international justice.
'Qatar affirms that solution for the current humanitarian catastrophe in Syria will only be through a political solution that takes into account the principles of the Geneva Accord 1 and other related international resolutions, which ensures that the desires and ambitions of the Syrian people are achieved transparently, Al Khater added.
