Dubai, UAE February 22 2018: The inspiring global fundraising initiative, CookForSyria is set to expand its mission into the region, with a series of activations taking place during the 2018 Dubai Food Festival. Curated by the mysterious and award-winning London based Foodie, ClerkenwellBoy, and SUITCASE Magazine's Serena Guen with support of Gemma Bell & Co, in partnership with Unicef NEXTGeneration London, the global movement raises vital funds for Unicef's Children of Syria Fund, with support from the world's top chefs, restaurants and volunteers.
Dalia Dogmoch, the region's based culinary personality and recipe contributor for #CookForSyriaRecipeBook, brings the movement to Dubai with Unicef UAE. The founder of the movement, renowned Clerkenwellboy will be in town for the very first time to join #CookForSyriaDxb.
On Friday, March 2nd, Dubai's progressive and experiential dining space concept, INKED, will open its doors and generous heart for a 4-course dinner at 8:00pm with dishes inspired by the #CookForSyriaRecipeBook. The #CFS 4-course charity dinner at INKED will give people the chance to join the global movement by spreading awareness and funds for the plight of children in the war-torn country.
#CookForSyria first started as a simple supper club, where a group of foodie friends came together to celebrate Syrian cuisine and raise money to help Unicef protect Syrian children. With the involvement of upwards of 50 top restaurants and cafes, over 100 donated recipes and posts, 200 plus supper clubs and bake sales, around 10,000 specials served, and 350,000 pounds raised, it's no wonder that the movement was awarded the The Guardian's Observer Food Monthly's Best Ethical Food Project in 2017.
