Weliamuna Report on SriLankan Airlines as part of the fresh investigations launched by a Presidential Commission on the national airline.

President Maithripala Sirisena recently appointed a Presidential commission to investigate allegations involving SriLankan Airlines and Mihin Lanka.

Hashim told Parliament today that his Ministry has implemented most recommendations in the Weliamuna Report.

The Minister said that his Ministry has also asked the Police Financial Crimes Investigations Division (FCID) to launch an investigation based on the Weliamuna Report.

He says his Ministry has done its part and it is in the hands of the FCID to do its part.

The Minister also called on the COPE committee in Parliament to also investigate the allegations on the airline using the Weliamuna Report.

The Weliamuna Report was made public in 2015 following an investigation launched on SriLankan Airlines over allegations of corruption and abuse of authority by the former management. (Colombo Gazette)
