By Rufiz Hafizoglu – Trend:

Turkey's opposition Nationalist Movement Party and ruling Justice and Development Party agreed on joint actions during the presidential election in 2019, the Turkish media reported Feb. 21.

Reportedly, the decision was made as part of an agreement between Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and Nationalist Movement Party leader Devlet Bahceli.

In January, Bahceli refused to nominate a candidate from the party in the presidential election in favor of the ruling Justice and Development Party.

He said the party will support the country's incumbent President Erdogan if he puts forward his candidacy in the elections.

Turkey will hold presidential, parliamentary and municipal elections in 2019.
