UAE- Khalifa Award for Education begins field visits to assess nominations

ABU DHABI, 21st February, 2018 (WAM) -- The General Secretariat of the Khalifa Award for Education has begun its field visits to assess the nominated projects, initiatives, schools and authorities for its 11th edition in 2017-2018.

Specialist committees will conduct personal interviews with the nominees on a range of topics identified by the award.

Amal Afifi, Secretary-General of the Award, highlighted the importance of the visits and personal interviews, which will take place at the workplaces of the nominees while adding that the nominated schools and authorities must meet the award's required standards.

She explained that the award comprises nine national-level categories, which include general education - innovative teacher, promising teacher; institutional educational performance and people of determination - employees, institutions and centres, as well as education and community service - institutions and the excellent Emirati family.

Afifi added that the Arab-level categories include educational personality and general education - innovative teacher, higher education; excellent university professor in teaching; excellent university professor in scientific research; innovation in teaching Arab language - university professors and teachers; academic research - general educational research, operational educational research, children's literature studies research; children's educational authorship; educational innovation - innovative educational projects and programmes, institutions, individuals and students.

Once the committees have completed their field visits and interviews, the award will complete an important phase in identifying the winners. After completing the assessment procedures, it will then be able to declare the winners, after the approval of the Chairman of the Board of Trustees at the start of April, she concluded.
