China sends eleven warships into East Indian Ocean in power display

(MENAFN) The East Indian Ocean was reported to have received eleven Chinese warships within this month amid an apparent demonstration of power.

According to sina.com.cn report, China has sent this month a fleet of destroyers, three support tankers, more than one frigate and an amphibious transport dock to make sail into the Indian Ocean.

The report pointed out that "if you look at warships and other equipment, the gap between the Indian and Chinese navy is not large."

Citing a defense source, Indian media reported "Indian satellites, warships, and long-range maritime surveillance aircraft like P-8I kept close tabs on the Chinese flotilla, which was in international waters towards Australia."
