Russia raises alarm on Daeshi presence denial by US, NATO

(MENAFN) Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov has insisted how not acknowledging the dangers of Daesh militants in Afghanistan by the United States and NATO is a serious cause for alarm.

The foreign minister stated "we are alarmed as unfortunately, the US and NATO military in Afghanistan makes every effort to silence and deny the Daesh group's presence in Afghanistan."

He then pointed out Moscow's doubt over the NATO activities in presenting a false danger level regarding the terrorists Afghanistan is facing.

"According to our data, the Daesh presence in northern and eastern Afghanistan is rather serious, there are already thousands of gunmen," the minister explained before adding "this increases the risk of the terrorists' penetration to Central Asia and it is not that difficult to get to Russia."
