Turkmen president voices discontent over low progress in transportation

Turkmen President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov has severely reprimanded Magsat Aydogdiyev, Minister of Automobile Transport, for improper performance of duties and shortcomings in work, the Turkmen government said in its message.

'The head of state pointed to the low level of measures for further modernization and improvement of transport sphere in the country and expressed his discontent by how the work is organized,' the message said.

The minister received orders concerning construction of automobile terminals in every region of the country, improvement of parking lots and servicing of passengers.

Construction of the Turkmenbashi-Farap and Ashgabat-Dashoguz roads is currently ongoing and will allow to link different regions of the country and increase passenger and freight traffic.
