Mitt Romney receives President Trump support in Utah Senate election

(MENAFN) Republican Mitt Romney has received support from President Trump in his run for Utah Senate election and become the successor of Sen. Orrin Hatch.

In his post on Twitter, the President declared "he will make a great Senator and worthy successor to @OrrinHatch, and has my full support and endorsement!"

In response, Romney posted a tweet expressing gratitude for the President, saying "thank you Mr. President for the support. I hope that over the course of the campaign I also earn the support and endorsement of the people of Utah."

However, the events have transpired in spite of the former 2012 presidential candidate constant criticism of President Trump while the President was running for the 2016 presidential election.
