Pakistan- Inquiry ordered into falling down of under construction gate in FR Kohat


(MENAFN- Tribal News Network) KOHAT, 19 February: The administration of the FR Kohat, Darra Adam Khel has ordered inquiry of the falling down of the under construction gate which claimed the lives of six laborers the other day.

Deputy Commissioner, Kohat, Khalid Ilyas said that a team had been formed to investigate the matter and examine the quality of the materials being used in the construction of the gigantic entry gate in Jawaki area.

The administrator further added that samples of the mixer and other building material had been sent to laboratory for inspection. The contractor of the project has been arrested and further investigations are underway.

According to Khalid Ilyas, the government had released Rs15 million for the construction of three kilometer road and an entry gate in Jawaki.

On Sunday, the under construction Bab-e-Jawaki, a gate at the boundary of district Kohat and the adjacent semi tribal region, collapsed as a result, six laborers were trapped under the rubble, whose bodies were retrieved later on. Two other laborers were injured in the incident who were shifted to Lady Reading Hospital, Peshawar.
