As he continues to chase the records, we take a look at the feats that the right-handed batsman can easily achieve in the next couple of years.
Kohli likely to have 40+ ODI centuries by next year

Virat Kohli has 35 ODI centuries in 208 matches, on an average one ton in every sixth match.
Considering India are set to play 30 more ODIs in 2018-2019, Kohli should reach the 40 ODI century landmark within the next 12 months.
He would become the second player (after Sachin Tendulkar) in cricket history to achieve this feat.
10,000 runs in ODI cricket is a few innings away

Scoring 10,000+ runs in any format of the sport is a big deal and Kohli is just a few games away from the milestone.
The Indian skipper has 9,588 ODI runs to his name and will soon join the elite list of cricketers with 10,000 runs landmark soon.
Kohli, however, has 5,554 runs in Test cricket and will take a while to reach 10,000.

Kohli can soon become India's most successful Test captain.
His predecessor, MS Dhoni is India's most successful captain with the most number of victories.
Kohli, who has won 21 Test matches so far, needs 7 more victories to surpass Dhoni.
India are scheduled to play 12 Tests in the upcoming 2018-2019 season and we won't be surprised if he overtakes Dhoni by 2019.

The Indian skipper, Virat Kohli can be the first Indian to reach the 2,000 run landmark in T20Is.
With 1,982 runs, Kohli is third on the all-time list.
Martin Guptill leads the all-time charts with 2,250 runs with an average of 34.61.
However, Kohli averages 52.15 in T20 cricket and with India set to play 21 T20Is, he is sure to top that chart.
