(MENAFN- Daily News Egypt) Minister of Industry and Trade Tarek Kabil and Minister of Military Production Mohamed Al-Assar signed three cooperation protocols to enhance industrial development and modernise all industrial sectors.
Kabil said that the signing of these protocols is a true reflection of the continuous cooperation between the Ministries of Military Production and Industry to enhance the competitive capabilities of various Egyptian industries to compete in different foreign markets.
Al-Assar pointed out the Ministry of Military Production is interested in transferring expertise and advanced industrial technologies to national industry through the signing of a large number of industrial cooperation agreements with major international companies.
He further noted that free trade agreements signed with a large number of countries and regional and global blocs contribute to increasing the competitiveness of Egyptian products in these markets.
Kabil explained that the first protocol aims to cooperate in the field of supporting and developing Egyptian industries through the establishment of the National Organisation for Military Production and its affiliated entities to provide services to the companies benefiting from the services of the Industrial Modernisation Centre (IMC) and include benefiting from the productive capacities available at military factories.
The minister added that this protocol is valid for one year and will be renewed for only three years.
The second protocol aims at implementing the pilot industrial model for modern electric motors for automatic washing machines, to find an alternative local product for imported components, especially since currently, nearly 60% of the components of washing machines are imported.
The third protocol aims at operating a leather tanning drum and discussing cooperation in establishing a maintenance centre in the city of Rubiki for leather.
He pointed out that under the protocol, the new project (tanning drum) will be run for a period of at least three months to evaluate the technical performance of the drum and make any required adjustments. The protocol is valid for three years.
