Sales of Hyundai and Kia jump in Europe


(MENAFN) Sales of vehicles made by Hyundai Motor Co. and its affiliate Kia Motors Corp. together, have increased 10 percent on-year in Europe in January.

Last month, the two companies have sold 80,741 vehicles in the vast automobile market, up from 73,327 units from a year earlier.


Hyundai's sales in the European market reached 44,108 units last month, increasing 14 percent from 38,559 units a year ago, while Kia's sales increased 5.4 percent to 36,633 units from 34,768 during the same period.

Hyundai made up 3.5 percent of the European passenger car market last month, up from the previous year's 3.3 percent, while Kia's share slightly dropped to 2.9 percent from 3 percent.
