His Majesty visits King Hussein Medical Center, checks on its services


(MENAFN- Jordan News Agency) Amman, Feb. 18 (Petra)-- His Majesty King Abdullah II, on Sunday, visited the King Hussein Medical Center (KHMC), and checked on services provided to citizens.

During a tour in the Prince Hussein Bin Abdullah II Center for Urology and Organ Transplants Center, His Majesty checked on military and civic retirees patients at the center clinics.

His Majesty stressed the importance of upgrading services provided to patients at the King Hussein Center, in order to ease the burden on citizens and the accelerate the process of meeting their demands.

His Majesty, during a meeting with Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, Lt. General Mahmoud Freihat, and Director General of Al Hussein Medical Center Brigadier General Mu'in Habashneh, reviewed a pilot scheme for a project to develop the KHMC at an estimated cost of more than 500 million dinars.

The 500-million project, which will be developed in line with the latest medical standards, will be funded by the government, as the United Arab Emirates will provide 141 dinars in grant to carry out the first phase.

King Hussein Medical Center Development project, which will be implemented through three phases, the first of which extends until 2024, aims at raising the center's capacity to 2472 beds from 1120 beds, or 97 per cent.
