Calls for FBI director resignation amid Florida shooting prevention rage

(MENAFN) The FBI director has been facing increasing demands to step down following the agency's confession of not taking action when a trip was received on the suspect of Florida shooting which ended up with the death of 17 people.

The confession caused a state of mistrust and rage among people in the Miami suburb of Parkland, where the incident happened, as Rick Scott, Florida's governor, urged the head of FB Christopher Wray to quit.

The FBI has received a tip before the massacre about a comment written by the suspect Nikolas Cruz on social media saying "I'm going to be a professional school shooter."

Investigations on that statement were closed shortly after they found it had unclear origins, however, Cruz did in fact commit the crime later on, the FBI explained.
