(MENAFN- Khaleej Times) The UAE Armed Forces' military show 'Union Fortress 3' will be held in Al Ain next Saturday. The main units of ground, air forces, security services and the Presidential Guard will be in action, at Al Ain International Airport during this free-to-attend event.
The general public will get a first-hand account of how the forces react to an emergency situation, their organisational skills, technical adv-ancements, military power, training schedules, duties performed to sec-ure the country, region and the world with utmost courage, determination, dedication, skills and experience.
The organising committee of the Union Fortress said the UAE Armed Forces have earned the respect and admiration of the whole world. These forces have become the shield and fortress of the UAE, and a constant protector against conspirators and ill-wishers.
"In the Year of Zayed, we recall the vision of the late founding leader Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan to build a modern national army, which he himself followed-up, until our national industries have ultimately been able to meet aspects of our military demands.
"His efforts also manifested in the preparation of national cadres and military leaders, making our forces a strong model of efficiency and readiness, as well as being a great example of the true sense of belonging to the homeland and loyalty to the leadership," the organising committee chairman said.
On February 24, the public will get to see how the guards handle a situation as a VIP convoy is attac-ked by the terrorists. Then there will be an aerial inspection using UAV, opening of a command post that comprises multi-armed forces, air and sea attack on island, tank and BMP infantry fighting vehicle in action, air bombing attack, accessing the floating bridge and evacuation of the injured, hostage rescue and more.
There will also be a Village Zone Area with an array of activities for families and children, along with food trucks. The preparations are currently on in full swing at Al Ain Airport.
This is a not-to-be missed event as the UAE soldiers showcase their advanced capabilities.
