Pakistan- Social media fulfils dreams of Lower Dir's Sidra


(MENAFN- Tribal News Network) LOWER DIR: Al-Khidmat Foundation, a welfare organisation, has announced to bear expenses of education of the little girl Sidra from Laram Top area of Lower Dir who was compelled to sell sweets on snow-covered mountains to tourists to look after her poor family.

The charity has also announced to provide financial assistance on monthly basis to Sidra's family. TNN correspondent said the Al-Khidmat Foundation volunteers visited the house of Sidra on Thursday and provided school uniform, schoolbag and food items to her.

Meanwhile, Ikhlas Foundation, a welfare organisation based in Batkhela, also provided Rs20,000 to the girl's family.

The girl caught attention of people when a tourist took her picture and shared it on the social media. The picture soon went viral and many people came forward to help her.

The little Sidra said she wanted to get education, but she was compelled to sell sweets on the snow-covered mountains in extreme cold weather because her father was ailing and she had to support her family.
