Pakistan- 27 file nominations for Fata Senate elections


(MENAFN- Tribal News Network) PESHAWAR, 12 February: As many as 27 candidates from the Federally Administered Tribal Areas have filed nominations papers for four vacant seats of the Upper House .

According to the Election Commission of Pakistan, those filed nominations for the Senate polls include Irfanullah, Mirza Muhammad Afridi, Shahid Hussain, Haji Khan, Shah Khalid and Farhad Shahab from Khyber Agency, Malik Afzaluddin Khan, Sajid Hussain Tori, Syed Jamal and Adnan Sattar from Kurram Agency, Hidayatullah Khan, Haider Shah, Syed Akhunzada Chattan and Nizamuddin Khan from Bajaur Agency, Zia-ur-Rahman, Pir Muhammad Aqeel and Muhammad Saleh from South Waziristan Agency, Shamim Afridi, Abdur Razzaq and Faizur Rahman from FR Kohat, Syed Ghazi Ghazan Jamal, Shoaib Hasan, Tahir Iqbal and Shaban Ali from Orakzai Agency and Hilal ur Rahman and Jangrez Khan from Mohmand Agency. Another candidate Malik Najamul Hasan has also filed nomination from Fata for the Senate seat.

The Election Commission of Pakistan will release the provisional list of candidates after the nominations are scrutinized. Polling on the four vacant seats of Senate from Fata will be held on March 19.
