Chinese among 28 Daesh rebels killed in Faryab blitz


(MENAFN- Pajhwok Afghan News) SHIBERGHAN (Pajhwok): At least 28 Daesh or Islamic State militants have been killed in an airstrike on their hideout in Darzab district of northern Faryab province, an official said Wednesday.

Deputy police chief Abdul Hafeez Khashi said the airstrike was carried out on the IS hideout in Sarud area on Tuesday night. Twenty-eight militants were killed, he added.

He said the dead included two Uzbek, one Chinese and one Iraqi militant. Several others were injured in the attack. He was unaware about civilian casualties.

Zainullah, a resident of the area, said his son was released from Daesh custody as a result of the airstrikes.
