UAE- Archaeological talks series Coffee Mornings returns

AL AIN, 8th February, 2018 (WAM) -- Organised by Al Ain National Museum and the Department of Culture and Tourism Abu Dhabi, DCT Abu Dhabi, Coffee Mornings, the interactive series of archaeological talks, will return with its fourth installment at UAE University on 13th February.

Titled An Archaeological Study of Al Mezyad Region during the Islamic Era, the talk will be led by Hamdan Al Rashedi, Historical Buildings unit head at DCT, and will take participants on a journey through the history of the Al Meyzad area. Al Rashedi will also be presenting the results of excavations in the region, including the cultural and historical monuments such as the Al Mezyad fortress from the 19th century and tombs from the early Islamic era.

In addition to his work as head of the Historical Buildings Unit at DCT Abu Dhabi, Al Rashedi has also participated in several archaeological excavations across the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, including Falaj archaeological excavations, Mezyad Village, Hili 8 and Al Muwaiji Fortress.
