3 projects costing 39m afs completed in Paktika


(MENAFN- Pajhwok Afghan News) SHARANA (Pajhwok): Three construction projects costing 39 million afghanis have recently been completed and put into service in southeastern Paktika province, the governor said Tuesday.

Governor Mohammad Ilyas Wahdat told Pajhwok Afghan News the projects taking one year to complete included a building for the governor€™s house.

The other projects included a bridge and a retaining wall in Mohammadkhel locality of Sharana, the provincial capital, and a water reservoir in Plato area.

The governor said the three projects were constructed at a total cost of 39 million afhgnis within a year.

However, provincial urban and development department head, Najibullah Jahid, said the projects were executed based on priorities.

He said the projects created job opportunities for a number of local residents and similar projects would be launched in near future.

Sayedullah, a resident of the area, expressed his happiness over the construction of the retaining wall in their area.

He said flood would destroy their farmland and houses each year but now the issue had been resolved.

The projects were inaugurated a day after three other projects were completed in Urgan district at a cost of 21 million afs.
