Conares lauds blind cricket tournament champions


(MENAFNEditorial) DUBAI - Jan 22, 2018: Conares, a leading provider of downstream steel products in the GCC region, lauded Indian blind cricket team on winning against Pakistan team at the One Day International Blind Cricket World Cup match recently held at Sharjah Cricket Stadium.

His Excellency Vipul, Indian Consul General in Dubai, hosted the team at the Consulate premises along with Mr. Bharat Bhatia, CEO of Conares and other dignitaries.

Commenting on the team's performance Mr. Bharat Bhatia said, 'We take great pride to see the Indian team winning at the Blind Cricket World Cup final, which was fought as fiercely as the usual India-Pakistan ODI matches. I would like to congratulate all the team members for their stunning performance.

'It was a great moment for us to felicitate the winning team. There's something very special about honouring them as they overcome the odds and won at the special tournament, he added.

The Indian team lifted the Blind Cricket World Cup defeating Pakistan by two wickets and with just eight balls to spare at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium.

Pakistan, who were put into bat, posted 308 runs in the allotted 40 overs. Badar Munir top scored with 57 runs, followed by Riasat Khan (48) and skipper Nisar Ali (47). India reached the target losing eight wickets riding on 93 runs.
