Qatar- Global Go to Think Tank Index to be unveiled on Jan 30


(MENAFN- Gulf Times) Al Jazeera Centre for Studies (AJCS) in partnership with the Think Tanks and Civil Societies Programme (TTCSP), will launch the 2017 Global Go To Think Tank Index on January 30. The launch will be followed by a panel discussion entitled, 'Why Think Tanks Matter in the era of Digital and Political Disruptions.
The TTCSP at the University of Pennsylvania has been reporting ranking of the world's leading think tanks since 2006. This was a response to a series of requests from donors, government officials, journalists and scholars to produce regional and international rankings of the world's preeminent think tanks. The objective of the Global Go To Think Tank Index report is to gain a better understanding of the role that think tanks play in governments and civil societies.
As part of the nominations process, all 6,828 think tanks catalogued in the TTCSP's Global Think Tank Database are contacted and encouraged to participate alongside over 25,000 journalists, policymakers, public and private donors, think tanks and functional and regional area specialists. This group of peers and experts is surveyed to both nominate and rank public policy research centres of distinction. This year over 60 think tanks, Intergovernmental organisations and other policy actors are to mark the launch of the Global Go To Think Tank Index for 2017.

Infiniti Q30 model recalled

The Ministry of Economy and Commerce (MEC), in collaboration with Saleh Al Hamad Al Mana Company, has announced the recall of Infiniti Q30 model of 2017 as a possible defect in the steering system may cause improper function of the driver airbag.
The MEC said the recall campaign comes within the framework of its ongoing efforts to protect consumers and ensure that car dealers follow up on vehicles' defects and repair them.
The MEC said that it will co-ordinate with the dealer to follow up on the maintenance and repair works and will communicate with customers to ensure that the necessary repairs are carried out.
