Pakistan seeks US aid for repatriation of Afghan refugees: Interior Minister

(MENAFN- Tribal News Network) GAWADAR: Interior Minister Ahsan Iqbal said that Pakistan has asked the United States to provide an economic package for honourable return of three million Afghan refugees to their homeland instead of indulging in blame game.

Talking to journalists here on Friday, Minister for Interior and Planning and Development Ahsan Iqbal said Pakistan could not be expected to certify who among the three million refugees were peaceful or involved in terrorism.

He said the US had withdrawn after the cold war and left Pakistan in the lurch, adding that it should share the burden instead of blaming Pakistan for its difficulties.

He maintained that US should announce economic package for return of three million Afghan refugees to their homeland.
