AL AIN, 14th January, 2018 (WAM) -- As part of Al Ain's calendar of cultural activities and events organised by Abu Dhabi's Department of Culture and Tourism for 2017/18, the 'My Heritage, My Responsibility' series returned to Al Ain Palace Museum on 11th and 12th January 2018.

Featuring an array of events and activities, crowds congregated at Al Ain Palace Museum for a variety of shows and workshops. The series focused on traditional performances typical to the different regions of the UAE, from the desert, to the mountains, sea and oases. The programme celebrates the rich cultural history and heritage of the UAE and highlights the diversity in the customs and traditions of the different areas of the country, influenced by the landscapes and prevalent industries.

The next installment of My Heritage, My Responsibility will return to the courtyard of Al Ain Palace Museum on 15th and 16th February, where visitors can experience some of the most unique Emirati performing arts, including Al Hoolu, Al Hadwa, Al Rababa, Al Taghrooda, and Al Harbiya. Visitors will also be able to enjoy a traditional market offering a variety of Emirati cuisine, artistic workshops, and traditional games for children, in addition to cultural competitions open to all.

Considered one of the most prominent cultural destinations in the city, Al Ain Palace Museum narrates the story of UAE's founder, the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan. With its unique and inherent Arabic identity, Al Ain served as his residence from 1946 until 1966.
