Jordan- Crown Prince visits Public Security Department

Amman, Jan.11 (Petra) -- His Royal Highness Crown Prince Al Hussein bin Abdullah II, on Thursday, paid a visit to the Public Security Department (PSD), where he was briefed by its Director-General, Maj. Gen. Ahmad Al Faqih, on plans related to the development and modernization of policing systems.

The Crown Prince was also briefed on the PSD's future plans and programs, aimed at promoting security services offered to citizens residents alike, as well as efforts to combat and control the crime.

Prince Al Hussein voiced his pride the PSD's efforts in addressing and controlling crime as well as preserving the security and safety of citizens on grounds based on respect for human rights, protection of their dignity and enforcement of the law, impartially and transparently.

Prince Al Hussein also underlined the importance of the PSD's initiative to involve young people as active elements in local councils in various police departments, to support public security officers in their duties.

He called on enhancing communication with young people as they are the most important and influential actors in society, and to involve them mainly in spreading awareness to prevent and fight drugs.

Prince Al Hussein lauded the PSD personnel's advanced and distinguished level and the use of the latest technologies introduced within the security system of the department.
