DOHA: The Public Works Authority, ‘Ashghal', will remove the existing eastbound diversion on Dukhan between Al Wajba Bridge and Old Bani Hajer Roundabout shifting the traffic onto the carriageway.

The detour, designed in collaboration with the General Directorate of traffic, will be in place on Friday (January 12) and last for two months to facilitate the construction of the service roads, utilities and landscaping of Khalifa Avenue.

During the traffic change, road travellers coming from Dukhan to Doha can use the carriageway in place of the existing diversion, as illustrated on the attached map. Travellers heading for Al Rayyan can use the New Al Rayyan Street on the right after Al Wajba Bridge.

The Public Works Authority will install road signs advising motorists of the detour. ‘Ashghal' requests all road users abide by the new speed limit at 50kph, and follow the road signs to ensure their safety.
