Pakistan- DI Khan people object to shifting of NBP regional branch to Bannu

(MENAFN- Tribal News Network) PESHAWAR: The regional office of the National Bank of Pakistan (NBP) has been shifted to Bannu from Dera Ismail Khan which has offended the local people.

The government had closed six regional offices of the NBP in March 2015 in different parts of the country which also included the regional office of DI Khan. The people of DI Khan had also staged protests against shifting of the NBP regional office, but no one took notice of that protests.

The NBP President Saeed Ahmed on 8 January announced to increase the number of regional offices from 23 to 37. Under the notification, the regional office of DI Khan has been shifted to Bannu. The people of DI Khan have objected to the shifting of the regional office to Bannu, saying that it will be very difficult for them to travel to Bannu. They demanded establishment of the regional branch in DI Khan.
