Qatar- Massive portrait of Emir made with gravel vies for world record

Doha: A huge portrait of Emir H H Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani was made with gravel on the ground near an airfield by Qatar Remote Control Sport Center, which comes under the Ministry of Culture and Sports.

It took then two months for them to complete the Tamim Al Majd portrait made using only black gravel near their airfield in Al Shamal road exit 54. The portrait was made to celebrate the Qatar National Day.

'We are in contact with Guinness World Records to register it as the largest portrait ever made, Amir Elhaddad, Events & Communications Manager of Qatar R/C Sport Center

The 260×300 meter portrait is visible only from the sky. It takes up an area of 78,000 square metres.

It could be seen from airlines approaching Doha from North.
