Dubai Safari closes early after huge rush

(MENAFN- Khaleej Times) After a day's closure on Sunday due to heavy rain, Dubai Safari has opened its gates for the public on Monday, and invited families only to enjoy the facility. However, following an unprecedented number of visitors, the safari was forced to close its gates early.

"We've had an unprecedented number of visitors today and have reached our capacity. We appreciate your understanding and look forward to seeing you tomorrow," Dubai Safari said in a statement.

"A new day of fun and adventures. We gladly announce that we are ready to welcome you all again today, Monday (families only) from 9 am until 5 pm. Doors close once we reach maximum capacity," Dubai Safari announced earlier on Monday.

Dubai Safari had earlier announced that Saturday, Monday and Wednesday will be for families only.

Authorities have taken the step after the safari saw 14,000 visitors in just two days of its soft opening -- 4,000 on the first day and 10,000 on the second.

Residents and visitors are invited to visit Dubai Safari free of cost for the first two weeks since the soft opening. The park is open daily from 9am to 5pm during this period.
