Roads closed due to flooding as heavy rain hits UAE


(MENAFN- Khaleej Times) Sharjah Police have announced the closure of roads that leads to valley as heavy rain lashed parts of the UAE on Sunday with more expected until December 18.

They also urged the public to stay away from valleys and dams to avoid being swept away by flash-flooding.

The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has urged motorists to drive safely during rainy conditions.

Meanwhile, the department of public works of the Ras Al Khaimah has created a special team to deal with the aftermath of Saturday's rainfall. The Ras Al Khaimah Police has pressed into action 8 resulting from the unstable weather.

Multiple accidents stall Dubai traffic

Commuters faced heavy delays on Sunday due to multiple accidents in Dubai, especially affecting Al Khail Road.

Al Khail Road was affected after an accident was reported in the direction heading towards Shaikh Zayed Road.

Sharjah drivers heading to Dubai should expect delays on Sheikh Zayed Road's E11 - from Al Nahda street towards Dubai. Delays were also expected on E311 road towards Muhaisnah.
