IOC asks FIFA for evidence on lifting Kuwait's ban

(MENAFN- Arab Times) KUWAIT CITY, Dec 16: The International Olympic Committee (IOC) has written to the International Federation of Football (FIFA) asking for evidences, statements and documents based on which the suspension on Kuwaiti football was lifted, reports Al-Qabas daily quoting reliable sources. The sources said the IOC may depend of these statements to lift Kuwait's suspension from international sports activities.

However, they may be something hidden behind this request. It is also reported the fourmember delegation from FIFA visited Kuwait recently comprising an official from Georgia, one from Turkey, an Indian who is believed to be close to Sheikh Talal Al-Fahd (former president of the Kuwait Olympic Committee, former president of Kuwait Football Association), and the fourth is Omani.

The delegation met with 13 members of the General Assembly of Kuwait Football Association in the absence of a member the Al-Qadsiya club. The members of the clubs denied any pressure on them with regard to the recent measures that have resulted in lifting the suspension. The source said it seems that some former members of the Kuwait Football Association feel unhappy and dissatisfied with lifting the suspension.
