6 venues to host events of Asian communities


(MENAFN- Gulf Times) The expatriate communities in Qatar will present a wide range of programmes as part of the associated activities of the Qatar National Day celebrations 2017 to be held at six localities in the country, the Ministry of Interior (MoI) has announced.
The events will take place at Asian Town, Labour City and Barwa Al Baraha in the Doha Industrial Area, Wakrah Sports Club, Rayyan Sports Club and Barwa Workers' Recreation Complex in Al Khor. Also, an international cricket tournament will be held at the Asian Town cricket stadium.
Thousands of students, families and Asian community members are expected to take part in cultural shows and musical performances to be staged at these venues, the MoI has said in a press statement.
Wakrah Sports Club will host several shows such as march-pasts and cultural performances by students of MES Indian School, Pakistan International School, Bhavan's Public School, DPS Modern Indian School, Pak Shamaa School and Shantiniketan School.
A musical concert by famous Pakistani artistes will be staged there from 6pm to 9pm. Musicians and performers include Rauf Lala, Karan Khan, Nilo, Deeba Kiran, Laila Nihal, Shama Adil, Soukat Mehmood, Kashmal, Shahid Ali Khan, Bul Bul, Attaullah, Gullai and Khan Zeb.
A group of Harley-Davidson riders will also participate.
The venues at Barwa Al Baraha and Labour City in the Doha Industrial Area will host cultural shows and performances by Bangladeshi, Sri Lankan, Indian and Nepalese community teams and artistes from different companies in addition to a musical performance by an orchestra. There will also be a classic car show by Mawater and a bike show involving Harley-Davidson riders at the venue.
The Kerala Muslim Cultural Centre will display several traditional and cultural programmes from 2.40pm to 3.40pm.
