(MENAFN- Muscat Daily) Muscat- ISWKi witnessed the demonstration of the greatest excitement and determination at its school grounds with the finals of ISWKi Cricket Premiere League, Season 1 being played, which was recently organised on ISWKi grounds between the team of the host school and parents team 'Falcons'.
It was in the first time of the history of Indian schools in Muscat that such an event was organised, by involving parents in an innovative manner. This was the brainchild of vice principal Nazim Quareshi, who was also umpire for the day. He was a constant pillar of support during the entire tenure since its inception.
The core idea behind such an event was to build a strong relationship between the parents, teachers and the school which would help the school to bring out the best out of the learners.
Team Falcons came up as the best team among the other teams of dads, namely, Daddy Daredevils, Team Lions and Super Daddy. They fought their way up in the league matches being played since past three months. The chief guest for the event was Rajendra Varma, head of Global Standards with HSBC bank, who is also part of the school management committee and is the sports chairman for the group.
The guest of honour Mayur Chandan, retail manager of Supa Sports, who was one of the main sponsors and also thesports and fitness partner of ISWKi. Other imminent dignitaries present on the field were Harshendu Shah,president of the school managing committee, ISWKi. All the teams were felicitated for their participation in the tournament.There were other awards given for outstanding performances.
Saumaya award was given for the 'Man of the Match' to Gaurav Yadav from the ISWKi team. Praveen Uniyal from team ISWKi was declared 'Best Wicket-keeper' and was given Master Aryan Joshi award. Manoj Mugale from team Super Daddy was given Master Aniruddh Nair award for the 'Best Batsman of the Season'. Shah, principal, D N Rao and Qureshi congratulated the winning team and appreciated efforts by all the teams.
