(MENAFN- Muscat Daily) Muscat- The parents and relatives of 933 students celebrated with their wards, spouses and children the realisation of dreams coming true during the 22nd graduation ceremony of Majan University College held at Al Noor hall, Muscat.
The ceremony was held under the auspices of H E Said bin Saleh al Kiyumi, chairman, Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and was also attended by H E Shaikh Rashad bin Ahmed al Hinai, chairman of Majan College's Board of Trustees, Sheikh Nasr bin Amer al Hosni, vice chairman of the Board of Directors, representatives of the Ministry of Higher Education and a host of distinguished guests from private and public sectors.
Dr Maha Kobeil, dean, in her speech thanked the chief guest H E Kiyumi for his presence along with other dignitaries. She expressed her delight and pride in presenting the nation with 933 graduates, 285 of whom were conferred with Masters in Business Administration (MBA), Masters of Science in Computer Sciences (MSc) and Masters in International Human Resource Management, in addition to 648 Bachelor degrees and Diploma in Higher Education. She addressed the families of the graduates, highlighting the great role played in providing the necessary support. Congratulating the graduates, she encouraged them to be armed with ethics and lend a hand to the less fortunate.
Hosni highlighted the college's achievements during the last year as it had been selected as the top brand in private higher education in April and the second best performing company in MSM. He also said that Majan University College is deeply proud of the trust Omani parents have in the college. To this end, ratios depict a 63 per cent increase in self-funded students. He reiterated the college's commitment to staff development and the granting of ample opportunities to qualified Omani candidates.
The proud graduates were felicitated by Bill Ramell, vice chancellor, University of Bedfordshire, UK. Ramell said, 'We are proud to be the partners of Majan University College, acknowledged for its commitment to the provision of top-quality higher education. It is the 'Most Trusted Brand' in higher education in Oman. Last April, Majan was voted the top brand in private higher education in Oman besides other accomplishments at academic and corporate levels.
