(MENAFN- Muscat Daily) Muscat- Several parts of Oman saw light to heavy rainfall on Saturday leaving vehicles stranded. In the evening, heavy rain lashed several areas of Muscat governorate. Rainfall in Musandam, Izki and Samail in Dakhliyah, Liwa and Sohar in North Batinah led to considerable fall in temperatures.
Overflowing wadis in Al Shibak area in Izki affected traffic movement on the road leading to the village of Al Qaryatain. Several passengers were rescued from three vehicles which were swept away by the surging water currents in Izki. In Dakhliyah, another three vehicles were swept away by the overflowing waters of Wadi al Uq in Samail.
All passengers were rescued. In an advisory, the Public Authority for Civil Aviation (PACA) has asked people to exercise caution as heavy rainfall is expected in the next 24 hours. 'Rainfall may exceed 40mm and wadis are expected to overflow,' PACA stated.
For Sunday and Monday, PACA stated, 'It will be partly cloudy to cloudy skies over Musandam, north and south Batinah, Buraimi, Dhahirah, Dakhliyah, north and south Sharqiyah with chances of rain and thundershowers associated with fresh winds and hailstorm. Moreover, it will be partly cloudy skies over Al Wusta and Dhofar with chances of isolated rain.'
