(MENAFN- Gulf Times) The Qatar Railways Company (Qatar Rail) has marked Qatar National Day in a ceremony at its headquarters in the Al Sadd area of Doha.
This year, the event included activities focusing on the country's historic values and cultural customs, Qatar Rail said in a statement.
'Qatar Railways seeks to foster the spirit of citizenship among its Qatari employees by celebrating this important national occasion. At the same time we aim to introduce employees to the richness of Qatari culture through various activities, said Abdulla Abdulaziz Turki al-Subaie, the managing director and chief executive officer of Qatar Rail.
'We are pleased with the interaction, which demonstrates the solidarity between the people and its leadership. The statement of His Highness, ‘Promise of Prosperity and Glory', is the biggest incentive for us to move forward with determination to achieve the objectives of the comprehensive development renaissance we aspire for under the guidance of our wise leadership, he added.
The ceremony began with the raising of Qatar's flag at the main entrance of the company, along with the national anthem of the State of Qatar, in the presence of senior management of the company, executive directors, and employees.
The event was attended by all employees of the company, the statement noted, adding that the staff enjoyed the different activities and attractions on offer such as falconry, traditional games, homemade Qatari dishes, and traditional costume photography.
Qatar Rail recently produced a special song on the occasion of National Day, Our Homeland in Prosperity.
The work showcases the pride the company takes in achieving its mission, its determination to overcome challenges, and its aspiration to deliver a world-class transportation system to the people of Qatar.
