(MENAFN- Tribal News Network) PESHAWAR, 15 December: Expressing disappointment over not tabling of Fata reforms bill in the National Assembly, Qabaili Khor (QK), a non-government organization of tribal women, has urged the federal government to merger tribal areas in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa without wasting further time.
'Most of the tribal parliamentarians and majority of the political parties as well as the military leadership are advocating reforms in the tribal areas. Even then the federal government has been delaying the reforms process, which is unfortunate,' said Nosheen Orakzai, QK's chairperson while speaking at a news conference in Peshawar press club on Friday.
Flanked by a number of other tribal women, Orakzai said that the federal government had not been giving due respect to the people of Fata. 'The government is not looking serious as far as reforms in Fata are concerned. It is literally humiliating,' she remarked.
'The population of Fata is shown far less than the actual in the recently completed Census. We demand from the government to give due rights to the people of tribal areas and merger Fata in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa without any further delay lest they should go astray,' she added.
