Ministry of Municipality and Environment yesterday organised a colourful programme to jointly receive ‘Legtaifiya project' as well as celebrate National Day.
The project was handed over by Qatari Diar, the developer of the project. Many students (girls and boys) from several schools participated in the programme. The students performed cultural performances. Al Gannas Society, a cultural association for hunters held several activities related to hunting with falcons and other things related to Qatari traditions like camping.
The event was attended by many senior officials from the Ministry including Engineer Ahmad Mohamad Al Sada, Assistant Undersecretary for Environment Affairs at the Ministry, Dr Mohammed bin Saif Al Kuwari, Head of the Center for Environmental and Municipal Studies and Jamal Matar Al Naimi, Director of Doha Municipality.
'Legtaifiya project includes 498 plots of land for housing, three commercial shops and 24 parks in a total area measuring 1,129,625 sqm, said Hasan Ali Al Mal, Director of Legtaifiya office.
