Jordan- King Meets Italian Interior Minister

AMMAN — His Majesty King Abdullah II on Thursday held talks with visiting Italian Interior Minister, Marco Minetti, at the Husseiniah Palace, on prospects to foster bilateral cooperation, with eye to security and defense domains.

Discussions touched on the latest Jerusalem developments in light of the U.S. administration's decision to recognize the holy city as Israel's capital and to relocate its embassy there.

Talks also tackled the Mideast crises, particularly developments on the Libyan arena, and efforts to achieve stability in this Arab nation.

They also highlighted regional and global efforts to counter terrorism within a holistic strategy.

The Italian minister, on his part, lauded the Kingdom's pivotal role to reach security and stability in the Middle East.

Royal Court Chief, Minister of Interior, and Italian envoy to Amman, attended the meeting.
