AMMAN — Minster of Environment, Yaseen Khayyat, headed Jordan's delegation to the One Planet Summit, held in the French capital, Paris, with the participation of over 100 countries, and bodies working in the environmental sector.

The conference discusses ways to find necessary funding resources to speed up implementation of eco-friendly measures and to reiterate advanced countries' commitment to fulfil their financial obligations towards their developing counterparts.

A Ministry of Environment (MoE) statement on Wednesday said Jordan has embraced an integrated action policy to address climate change challenges until 2020.

The Kingdom encounters three major challenges in its pursuit to tackle climate change impacts, namely financing relevant alleviation schemes, launching "green" eco-friendly technology, and kicking off a national building plan to suit donor countries' requirements, it pointed out.

The country presses ahead in carrying out action programmes, policies and projects to counter rigorous climate challenges, particularly in the energy, transport, industry, water, and agriculture sectors, it underlined.
