AMMAN —AlGhad— Minister of Media Affairs and government spokesperson Dr Mohammad Momani stated today, Thursday, that Jordan will address the International Criminal Court (ICC) order, regarding Bashir's unconstrained visit to the Kingdom, within the boundaries and capacities of the legal framework. A few days back, the ICC announced that it would be referring Jordan to the United Nations Security Council over its failure to arrest Sudanese President Omar Bashir.
While featuring on national television, during the talk-show, Akhbar w Hiwar, Momani underlined that the charges will be addressed in accordance to the law.
A team of legal experts have already drafted legal arguments, based on international and Arab League covenants, granting heads of states immunity, Momani said.
These arguments will be presented to the UNSC accordingly.
Meanwhile, Momani stressed that in no way has Jordan defied international laws by inviting Bashir to attend the Arab League Summit earlier this year.
