TEGUCIGALPA, Honduras, Dec. 14, 2017 /PRNewswire/ --This week, as required by Honduran electoral law, the Honduran Supreme Election Tribunal, or TSE, began reviewing 125 official objections to the results of the November 26 national elections, including four motions challenging the presidential election.

According to , 40 attorneys appointed by the TSE have begun reviewing the objections. In addition to the presidential motions, the TSE has received 43 objections to congressional elections, and 78 for municipal mayoral elections.

International electoral observers from the Organization of American States, or OAS, and national observers from Honduras's agro cooperatives confederation, the Honduran Council of Private Enterprise, or COHEP, and Honduran human rights organizations will oversee the entire review process, to which the press has full access. The TSE has until December 18 to respond to all objections.

In the last three weeks, the TSE has conducted two partial reviews of ballots from the presidential election, as requested by the Libre Alliance. The first review ran from December 3-4, when TSE hand-counted 1,006 ballot boxes flagged as potentially irregular. The second ran from December 9-10, when TSE recounted 4,753 more ballot boxes. None of the electoral observers or representatives of the political parties found any irregularities in the vote totals.
