Shares of Kazakhstan's Caustic JSC on sale

Kazatomprom JSC announced the sale of a 40 percent of shareholding of the Caustic JSC subsidiary company.

"The starting price, requested for 40 percent of the shareholding is 3.7 billion tenge," the press service of the company said in a message.

The acceptance of applications for an open two-stage tender will be completed on January 3, 2018.

The Caustic JSC produces caustic soda, liquid chlorine, hydrochloric acid, and technical sodium hypochlorite.

The plant's products are used in many sectors of the Kazakhstan's economy, including oil, chemical, medical, food industries, non-ferrous and ferrous metallurgy.

The sale of subsidiaries and affiliates is carried out within the framework of Kazakhstan's business transformation program, and serves to the increase of Kazatomprom JSC's value by removing non-core assets and focusing the company's activities directly on the nuclear industry, according to the message.
