Aspire Zone to go Maroon


(MENAFN- Gulf Times) Aspire Zone Foundation (AZF) announced yesterday the details of its festive programme as part of the state celebrations of National Day on December 18.
AZF will light the maroon roses in Aspire Park's lake from Thursday to Saturday to give the place a burgundy hue.
AZF celebrations will start on Thursday and will include a number of cultural and heritage events, such as the Qatari Ardha, with participation of students from the Aspire Academy, as well as a falcon display, a camel centre and a number of recreational activities such as henna painting and a traditional reception hall (Majlis).
On Saturday, Aspire Park will witness a paragliding display involving internal security forces (Lekhwiya) from 3pm to 5pm.
Horse shows will be also featured on Saturday at the Aspire Park, with musical performances, jumping shows and pole picking involving 32 horsemen.
Lekhwiya's Al Athar department will present sniffer dog shows to demonstrate how the animals are used to fight crime and smuggling.
