(MENAFN- Tribal News Network) PESHAWAR, 13 December: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has signed an agreement with the Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS) to promote education and business opportunities.
The agreement was signed at a meeting at the Chief Minister House in Peshawar. KP Minister for Sports and Youth Affairs Mehmood Khan and LUMS Vice Chancellor Professor Dr Sohail Naqvi were also present on the occasion.
The KP government has allocated Rs500 million for KP Youth Investment Challenge Programme out of which 84 percnet funds will be provided to successful candidates in shape of grants, while 16 percent funds will be spent on moving forward the LUMS programme.
The provincial government says the purpose of the programme is to promote the talent of youth especially in the rural areas and make them job providers instead of job seekers. Youth training programmes in different fields will also be organised under the agreement. LUMS School of Education will also provide research and practice facilities to the youth according to international standards.
