Japan: 80 year old dying man throws a huge farewell party


(MENAFN) A massive farewell party was thrown by an 80 year old Japanese businessman who was diagnosed with terminal cancer so as to express his gratitude to people attending the event and say his goodbyes.

The former president of machinery giant Komatsu who was diagnosed with the illness in October has invited to Monday's party nearly 1,000 guests which includes friends, previous school mates, and work acquaintances.

At a press conference following the end of party, Anzaki said "I am satisfied that I could say 'thank you' to people I met in life. As I want to maximise the quality of life during the time I have left, I have decided not to receive treatment given the side effects."
